Finally the big day of Simon and Kim arrived! Their wedding took place at the beautiful little church of St. Issells in Saundersfoot. I must admit that I felt nearly as exited as Kim and by now I feel almost like part of the family too. Regular blog readers already know Simon and Kim from when I first met them to do Kim's bump shots, then Hazel's baby photos and the E-session a few weeks back. Therefore it was my extreme pleasure to be with them on their very special day too.

And what a beautiful day it was – summer, sun and blue skies! The little church is the perfect backdrop for a special wedding and not to forget – Hazel's christening too! Kim's dress was fabulous and Simon's suit with the top hat, as well as all the other boy's outfits were perfect for a hat tossing shot a bit further down. Oh, and the car! When Kim told me that she would arrive at church in style with Jeff from Top Class Cars and in the stunning REO Flying Cloud, I knew that we would get some stunning images with this vintage beauty. I love this car so much and if you know Jeff – he is up for everything and a good laugh too. This time he let me place Simon behind the wheel for Kim to push – there was of course absolutely nothing wrong with the car!

But now – picture time! Congratulations again to Simon, Kim and Hazel! Thank you for letting me be part of your special day.

A few weeks ago I was invited to photograph a very special and interesting event held by Gitti Coats and Lise Matthews; better known as the Health Detectives. These two lovely ladies have a clinic here in Haverfordwest where they practise Kinesiology, NLP and Bowen Technique.

Kinesiology was founded in 1964 by chiropractor George H. Goodheart. It is a diagnostic technique using basic muscle testing to enable practitioners to identify areas of dysfunction within the body as a whole. Based on the principle that the body is a self-maintaining, self-correcting mechanism that – put simply – aims to be well, kinesiology tests for chemical, emotional, or structural problems. These three form the ‘triad of health’ and many health problems can be a combination of these three – or even start as one and become more complex, affecting the other aspects of a person’s health.

I have experienced Gitti & Lise in action now for a whole year and they helped me with my own health problems tremendously. Here are some impressions from the Strictly Hormones talk a few weeks back.

When Sean contacted me on the Wednesday evening and asked if I would be able to photograph his wedding on the Saturday (3 days later!) I thought at first that somebody tried to make fun of me. But I soon had to find out that Sean was rather stressed out as he had to find out that his booked wedding photographer could not be there for his wedding day. I managed to re-arranged my plans for this day and was able to be with Sean and his lovely bride Beth on their wedding day.

Beth is originally from Solva and so the couple decided to get married there in St. Aidan's Church.  The reception was held at the historic Warpool Court Hotel and we also had a stop by St. David'S Cathederal for some private photographs of the newly wedded couple.

I absolutely loved the wedding car! It's a REO Flying Cloud from 1929 and I thought the vintage treatment for the images is fitting here.

Mayor Councillor Jim Campbell,  mayor of the town of Haverfordwest hosted the ancioent civic tradition of the beating of the bounds last week. The annual festival celebrates the traditions of the old trading port of Haverfordwest with a waterborne procession to inspect the town boundaries and the fishing rights as the Admiral of the port.

This year was the first year since we moved to Haverfordwest that I was not working and I was exited to view this event live. I was very lucky to get invited to go along on one of the boats and enjoyed the views from the boat along the river. When all the boats finally arrived at the ports border, which was marked with a huge whiote stone on the bank – all the boats started to honk their horns to mark the event.

I really have enjoyed the evening and again learned something new but old about my new hometown Haverfordwest.

It was a booking in the last minute – literally – I had the phonecall on the monday to photograph John & Clare’s wedding on the friday.  Set in the stunning Slebech Park, it was a photographer’s dream – that is if it is NOT raining.

Clare had the most fantastic silver shoes and a geourgeous silvery, lacy dress to compliment her beautiful figure – she looked just stunning! But what am I talking about – have a look yourself!
