A few weeks ago I was invited to photograph a very special and interesting event held by Gitti Coats and Lise Matthews; better known as the Health Detectives. These two lovely ladies have a clinic here in Haverfordwest where they practise Kinesiology, NLP and Bowen Technique.

Kinesiology was founded in 1964 by chiropractor George H. Goodheart. It is a diagnostic technique using basic muscle testing to enable practitioners to identify areas of dysfunction within the body as a whole. Based on the principle that the body is a self-maintaining, self-correcting mechanism that – put simply – aims to be well, kinesiology tests for chemical, emotional, or structural problems. These three form the ‘triad of health’ and many health problems can be a combination of these three – or even start as one and become more complex, affecting the other aspects of a person’s health.

I have experienced Gitti & Lise in action now for a whole year and they helped me with my own health problems tremendously. Here are some impressions from the Strictly Hormones talk a few weeks back.

I met Teleri in July at the Twinning Celebrations and Spätzle workshop when the visitors from Oberkirch have been visiting Haverfordwest. Teleri asked me then if I would take photos when her little bundle arrives and just about two weeks ago, her mum phoned me to tell me that the little girl arrived. Two weeks early and via c-section – Teleri's little baby was so tiny but so so sweet when I visited them last week. So far, the little baby girl has not been named but I am sure that her mum will let me know their final choice soon. I have heard the two possible choices and I love them both.

I have told you earlier that I am behind with blogging and just remmembered the photos I took a little while back at the anual bbq down at Wolfs Pit Lake. I was testing my new "spare" camera, a Canon 40D which I have as a backup camera when I photograph weddings. There are a few macro shots of the plants and bugs around the lake and also my daughter’s first angeling lesson from her granddad Roger.

What does a photographer do on holidays???? Yeah, taking photographs! Even on holidays I can’t put the camera down – I just go and shoot what gets in front of my lens. I try out a lot of things and sometimes I just practise. This may sound stupid to you but in reality – I love being a photographer!

Right now I wish the weather would be a little bit better and hope for a couple of nice summer days before everyone goes back to school and work. The end of summer holidays always means that autum is nearly here. Soon the leaves will fall and soon it will get colder and we all are ready for xmas shopping. Urgh!    So, with this in mind – if you would still like to book a photo session with me you have to hurry up!

Ok, I wanted to show you some images I took in Kiln Park the other day. There was a sweet little circus doing the evening program there and we went for a bit of entertainment. I thought this was a perfect oportunity to take the camera along and do some high iso images in low light.  Well, when we got there it actually was pitch black dark and apart from the show lights there was nothing much else.

Ok, bevor the german visitors went back to Oberkirch on monday afternoon, I also attended a Spätzle workshop held by the Oberbürgermeister’s wife Dr. Andrea Braun and Bruni Apelt from Apelt Stoffe in Oberkirch. They brought a lovely apron and a Spätzle machine together with all the information about Spätzle for every attendend and then showed us how to prepare traditional german Spätzle. Anybody who is now frowning and don’t know what this is – Spätzle are a kind of fresh noodles, very traditional in the south of Germany.

The basic ingredients are flour, eggs, water and a bit of salt. You mix everything together and beat the mass until the dough gets air bubbles. Then you scoob portions of the dough into a Spätzle machine and boil the strings of dough until they float on the surface of the boiling water – voila! SPÄTZLE! Hmmmmmmmmm ………

Here we go – you need:

500 gramms of flour

150 – 200 ml of water

5 eggs

pinch of salt

mix it all together and beat it as hard as you can – yes, it’s as easy as that.

For variety and like we did on the photos – layer it with onions and cheese for cheese spätzle and bake it in the oven until the cheese is all melted – YUMMY!
