Summerfeelings …

… a little sunburn and a lazy day at the sea …

Rain was forecasted again for tomorrow and both of my "men" were working today, so we thought we better enjoy the sun and the warm breeze and take a trip to the sea. Well, since we have sea and beaches all around us, we took the tour over to Pembroke and went along the cliffs at St. Govans Haed.

Ohhhh, it war geourgeous and we enjoyed the day with a little picnic with a stunning view and lovely blue water, white clouds and lots of sun.

Here are some pics of were we have been:

Yes, I did it too. Practicing portrait in full sun, of course of Hanna, my ever so patient little model.

While we were sitting and had some luch, I took the chance and take some pics of the hardy and windswept greenery around us. Well, other people who went past, did had a good look why I was on my hands and knees right at the cliff side, lol.

On the way home we thought we stopped at the Lilyponds. We have never been there and thought that the beautiful Lilies should be already out in bloom. But I got something totally different …

I didn’t believe my eyes when I saw the Herin on the little footpath over the water. I had my long lens with me but of course it was in my bag and not at the camera. I tried and did a lensswap as quick and quiet as I could.

With my camera set I slowly walked across the bridge until he saw me and got ready to take of. I managed to kneel down very qickly and shot as many frames as I could.

After only 5 shots my camera turned itself off – batteries were dead, cursing Summerfeelings …

It was a great day out and the fresh sea air does its best now – I am totally tired but very happy. I think today just made me raelize again how beautifull this part of the world is and how lucky I am to be able to live here. Today was perfect apart from one thing – I miss my *Mika*. He was always by my side on days like today. He used to enjoy this country just as much as I do and he was just the perfect companion one could wish for.

Another BLOG ???

Hello … … and welcome again.

Unfortunatly my BLOG which we created within my webpage wasn’t working as I wished it would and now I have decided to try the probably most used Blogger application on the net. This must be working as so many people are using it. So why not for me? And why do I do this? Well, I just like to share pictures which I take in between and along my way, pictures I might like very much or which I might be proud of because they turned out better than I thought or even funny snapshots – who knows what my lens will catch. Not everything what I capture fits or is worthy to show but they are worthy to my family. Exspecially to my family in Germany, which I haven’t seen for nearly 3 years and of course my friends over there. Maybe I have a funny story to tell you or maybe I have one not so good like the hart time I had recently when my beloved dog *Mika* died after loosing his battle against bonecancer. I miss him so much and it still hurts terribly but I try and carry on, having him in my heart always. Mika was a real fighter and a Clown, he always saw the sun – even if it was hiding behind dark clouds. If you like to find out more about him, please feel free and read his story here.

MIKA

Anyway, most of this BLOG will probably if not for sure be all about photography. I am still learning and probably carry on for the rest of my life but it is so much fun. I have recently discovered how creative the postprocessing of images can be and hopefully I will be able to show you a lot more in this space.

Well, we will see what I come up with next.
