Meet Doogy and Ella

I had the greatest pleasure today to meet and photograph two wonderful and funny dogs – Doogy and Ella.

Doogy is a handsome and very lovable chap who likes to show his Love there and then - and he reminds you of that constantly. I am still not quiet sure if I do have some skin left in my face but thanks god he has a very soft tongue, it’s just huge but I think I am perfectly fine.  005 Meet Doogy and Ella  Thanks Doogy for all the loving licks you gave me today.

Ella is just plain cute – who can resist the looks she gives you? Look at those puppy dog eyes, wow! She is also always up for mischief – just how puppies should be at 4 month of age. Just watch out Doogy – she will try and want to rule the house soon!

Thank you so much Jeanette and Lizzie for letting me come to your house and photograph your two darlings today. I had a blast and a great time.

Here are some sneek peeks for you, click on them to see them larger.

About Webdesign and Super Heros

There are changes again in the pipeline ….

My regular blog readers already know that my other fascination apart from photographs and dogs is to “create” in photoshop. And of course the best place to show this is here online on my blog and over at Blue Bird Photography. Some of you know that my webpage is based on a program called phpwcms – yes, I asked the same question when I first heard of it just over a year ago. I can’t praise this Content Management System enough – it allows even me (a total html dummie) to create a whole webpage myself and all that without or by now minimal html knowledge.

I like to create stuff myself and with my webpage I didn’t want to just go out and buy a ready-made webpage just to fill it with photos – I wanted everything and everything easy and of cause all possibilities to top it of. When I first started I wasn’t very trustful in myself and after the first failed installation I was ready to give up.

But then ….. Then I met Pepe, Pepe (Manfred) Peperkorn! You have probably seen him around here – yes that’s the guy who is posting in German all the time, but believe me he is only leaving the nicest comments and not secret massages, lol. Pepe has not only the most valuable tips and tricks up at his sleeve, he has the ability to explain everything that even people like me understand things eventually. His patience will wow you and he is very funny and makes you laugh all the time. But not only that – he picks you up when you down and he always knows the perfect solution to any problem – Pepe has become a very dear friend which I don’t want to miss any more. He knew that I wasn’t totally happy with the current design but when Pepe asked me what I wanted I couldn’t even tell him. So we went brainstorming …. Eventually I came up with a design idea and just three pictures created in Phtoshop. I wasn’t sure if this could be working with phpwcms but I knew that it wasn’t working with my current css for sure and that a complete new code has to be written. For me this would have been an impossible task.

Anyway – two days later I received some screen shots – a webpage frame with my design – holy camoly how has he done this so quickly??? I couldn’t believe what I saw and got told to get my finger out and prepare to fill it, think about a structure and navigation …. Another day later and the whole thing went online (nananana I am not telling you where you can find it) and I was able to work with it, in the same way like I do with my current site – just better. Huh? You wanna see? Nooooooo, I have to finish up some little things but in a couple of days will be the switch over. For now I will give you a little sneak peek:

Anyway, I can only say a huge THANK YOU to Pepe for his help – he is my favourite super hero for sure. Check out his webpage at www.phpwcms-templates.de I know it’s all in German but if you think and feel that you might want a webpage with unlimited possibilities, service which is un-top-able and plenty of fun – get in touch with him and he WILL find a solution for you too. For me Pepe is just a Master OF Code!!!

If you like what you see in a couple of days, please comment and leave some feedback for Sir Pepe – first class Super Hero

Happy Easter to everybody flowers Easter impressions from Pembrokeshire

I just managed to get back online – I have terrible broadband problems recently, so I am happy to be able to post today.

I took my camera on a walk with the dogs today and snapped all the little spring details.

Stormtime

It started all yesterday late afternoon, after a sunny but cold day the big, dark storm clouds were rolling in over Pembrokeshire and parts of South England and Wales. We had winds up to 80 miles speed and lots of rain and hail during the night, causing lots of damage, including the lifting of complete roofs.

This morning when I got up at 6 everything was quiet and the sky was a funny yellow color, it was actually quiet spooky after all the wind noise during the night. When I left for work it was starting to rain again and high tide should have been at 8.

Around this time we had to drive through our town and managed to get into a flooded road just before the police closed it for all further traffic – on the side of the road was a little red Ford Fiesta parked with the flood water already up to its windows.

I knew that I just had to get out after work and take some shots of the scenes we drove by at work but by the time I finished at 10 most of the floods were already gone down. I still went and found this:

ooops

The road to our favourite beach was closed off but I just had to go and see what I heared on the radio, so I went past the road barriers 022 Stormtime

to find this:

Newgale Beach     Newgale Beach

The waves and storm surge went over the pebbled break water and pebbles were all over the road, making it impossible for any vehicles to get past.

In the very last picture below you can just see the digger to the right of the houses clearing the road and nearly finished by the time I got there (click on the pictures to see them bigger).

I also found a humerous scene at the place where I took these pictures from (hint: there is a couple of shoes under the sign):

The storm is strong again tonight but not as strong as last night – we’ll see what it is like tomorrow morning.

Hope you are all keeping well.
