another new location

This is especially for Rhianon and Chloe – "Hi girls, I haven’t forgotten about you and will be in touch soon!"

Since I photographed a lot of babies and families recently, I was over the moon when these two girls got in touch with me to take their portraits. I think now I have found the perfect location and tried some shots with the help of my daughter Hanna. She is always there to help me out and I just have to say a little thank you to her.

So, here we got some photographs in a different style – fit to suit two lovely young models.

some random experiments

I thought I would post some random experiment pics up tonight. Nothing fancy just a couple of images where I have been playing with silhouettes, back lighting and on-camera flash.

Did I mention that I will be photographing my first couple of weddings soon? I am so exited about it and can’t wait for the big days hyper some random experiments Right now I am stocking up my flash cards, batteries and other nifty little things a wedding photographer should carry in his bag. This will be a whole new experience for me, so yeah! I can’t wait.

In the coming weeks I have quiet a few sessions booked – in fact I am very busy and I am fully booked until after June 2nd.

Look out for a few nice family shoots, two lovely young ladies and more babies 001 wub some random experiments

Today I was lucky enough that I wasn’t busy at work and had the time to photograph the local soldiers when they received their medals for a 6 month tour to Afghanistan. I am still editing the images but I should be able to show you tomorrow.

For now, here are some of my experimental ones:

Is it really a year already?

I miss him – I miss him every single day. His company, his soft fur, his smell and cheeky antics. I miss reaching down next to me to touch him when I sit here at my desk. I miss calling him to go out, to feed him and to call him for a coudle, a game with his beloved balls and a fooling around out of the blue. I miss to see him running at the beach, so full of life …

A year today I had to let go of my beautiful and special dog Mika.

I just like to say thank you again to all those people who helped in the time of his illness and the support I got from the people of the bone cancer list.

I had so many emails in this hard time and reading them once again made me cry once again. There are far too many to list them all, here are just a few:

Dear Sue,
I’m so sorry to hear of the passing of Mika.
Please accept my sincerest condolences.
Godspeed Milka. Godspeed.
Dee, Miss Bailey, and angel Sampson

Sue, please know candles will be lit today in Honor of Mika.  The
tears welled up when I saw the photo of Milka and Lil Ellie (not so
little now, probably) on your website – your site is a wonderful
tribute to Milka and his life.
Mike’s legacy will continue to live on in your heart and the hearts
of those who loved him.
Godspeed, dear Mika.

Mika and Worf find each other and keep each other company until we
can be with them.

Sincerely, Melissa, Rob, Ben, Abby, Mufahsa, and Data

Peace to you and your family…..Mika was a beautiful dog, an inspiration to everyone who will hear his story.

Sue,We’re sorry for your loss and there will be candles lit in Bonita Springs, Fl. for your family and Mika who is running with the angels and all of the animals that have been taken by this disease. It was good that you had 12 month’s to enjoy his time with you.  Kim & Shadow

Sue and Ellie, Please accept my sincere sympathy on the loss of your sweet Mika. Just went to the website you posted and boy is he a handsome dog! As sad as you feel today, just knowing that you were actually able to turn 12 weeks into 12 wonderful months. Those will be memories you will be so glad that you had. You fought the fight and Mika did you proud. Now he is painfree and whole again and no more OS. Just his beautiful sweet face patiently waiting to see you again someday. Godspeed, Mika.

Mika was only 7 years old. We rescued him from a shelter in Germany and brought him over to Wales with us when we moved. In April of 2006 we had to find out that he had bonecancer and the vet gave him 12 weeks to live.

We had 13 wonderful month with him, maybe because of an unconventional treatment I begged my vet to try or maybe because Mika was such a fighter …. who knows? Read his full story here: mika.fidography.co.uk/index.php

I was very touched when everybody lit a candle for Mika last year. I will light Mika’s candle again tonight.

xxx

Sue

Location Scouting

My hubby came back today and told me about this funky location and asked if I would like to go with him to have a look. He said that it probably would be just up my street 022 Location Scouting hmmmmmm

He took me to an old, abandoned mining depot. It was left to rot maybe for 20 or so years and there was this eeriness as we went between the old buildings with shattered windows and doors hanging off.

Wow, just wow this place was so spooky and it probably didn’t help that we arrived there in the blue hour when everything was lit with a beautiful light. It was heaven for rust colours, plenty of texture and structures and the ideal place for a funky shooting or a trash the dress bridal shoot.

I MUST MUST MUST go there and do a photo shoot! hyper Location Scouting If anybody is up for something like this, please get in touch. I can guarantee the most funky and fun session. These old building make a great backdrop.

I took my camera with me but I was just too fascinated looking around instead of taking pictures. I was so intrigued by all the broken glass that I took some artsy shots.
